The National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia's Health Services Research Centre is pleased to announce a number of one year Research Fellowships in conjunction with the UCL/UCLH Surgical Outcomes Research Centre and the London Clinic. A number of research projects will be available, focusing on evaluating the impact of changes in healthcare delivery such as the European Working Time Regulations, Enhanced Recovery Programmes and the management of emergency surgical patients.
There will be a clinical commitment to The London Clinic Intensive Care Unit. The London Clinic has a busy 11 bedded unit which admits Level 2/3 patients from a wide range of specialties, including haematology, Oncology, surgery and medicine, providing all modalities of organ support, fully supported by consultants in ICM.
These are non-training posts, but successful candidates will be encouraged to prospectively apply to their local Deanery for Out of Programme Research post status. Applicants should have a minimum of 6 months Clinical Intensive Care experience, as well as excellent organisational skills and an interest in academic anaesthesia. Expected start date will be biannually each year.
