President's Award for Undergraduate Research 2009

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is committed to supporting undergraduate medical students with an interest in anaesthesia and related specialities. Accordingly, in partnership with the Anaesthetic Research Society, it has established the President’s Awards for Undergraduate Research. Awards will be given for:

• clinical research or audit; and
• laboratory-or model-based research.

Medical students who have undertaken research projects as part of their training were invited to submit an abstract of their work. Applicants (supported by their supervisor) were invited to display a poster of their work at the meeting of the Anaesthetic Research Society at the Royal College of Anaesthetists on Thursday, 3rd December 2009. The posters were judged by a panel of experienced researchers and the winners were presented with their prize at the end of the day.

The next President's Award for Undergraduate Research will take place at the Winter Anaesthetic Research Society Meeting on the 11th November 2010.
