On Tuesday, 9 December 2008, the NIAA Grants Committee met to consider the first round of 2008 applications for funding on behalf of Anaesthesia/Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland and The British Journal of Anaesthesia/Royal College of Anaesthetists.

We considered 35 applications over four categories for a requested sum of £1.23M and made a total of ten awards to a value of £0.44M. One important outcome of the single streamlined process was the joint funding of one project grant. Details of the funded work can be found below.
