The first National Institute for Academic Anaesthesia meeting for research trainees was held at the College on March 25 2010. The meeting was well attended by an enthusiastic audience. The prize for best research poster was won by Dr Ram Adapa for his presentation on 'Neural correlates of successful semantic processing during propofol sedation'. The second prize was awarded to Dr Andrew Johnson for his presentation on 'Metabolic Control of Energetics in Human Heart and Skeletal Muscle'. The President of the College (Dr Peter Nightingale) presented the winners with a cheque and certificate.
