Travel Grants and IRC Funding
The International Relations Committee (IRC) of the AAGBI Foundation considers applications to fund projects usually, but not exclusively, in lower resourced countries. There are three categories of grants:

The next IRC meeting applicants can submit a grant application to for the above three categories will be held in January 2020. The submission period is currently open to applications for travel taking place between 28 February 2020 and 24 April 2020.
The deadline for these applications is 23:59 on Wednesday 18 December 2019.

The next SAFE meeting applicants can submit a SAFE Project Grant application to will be held in January 2020. The submission period is currently open to applications for travel taking place between 1 February 2020 and 1 February 2021.
The deadline for SAFE Project Grant applications is 23:59 on Tuesday 17 December 2019.

Please note applications are not considered retrospectively, so applications must be made in advance of travel so that a decision can be taken at the next available committee meeting.

Wylie Medal Undergraduate Essay Prize
The Wylie Medal 2020 will be awarded to the most meritorious essay on the topic Who's to blame? Individual vs. institutional accountability written by an undergraduate medical student at a university in Great Britain or Ireland.

The overall winner will receive the Wylie Medal in memory of Dr W Derek Wylie, President of the Association 1980-82.

Undergraduate Elective Funding
Applications are invited from medical students studying in Great Britain and Ireland (subject to confirmation of eligibility) to apply to the AAGBI Foundation for funding towards a medical student elective period taking place between April 2020 and September 2020. Overseas students should ensure that they are permitted to apply for charitable funding.
