NIAA Grants EDI Questionnaire
It is a requirement to complete the online NIAA Grants EDI Questionnaire if you are applying for an NIAA Grant.
The NIAA has a strong commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and these principles are embedded into our values and the way we work as a partnership between the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), the British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA), the Association of Anaesthetists, Anaesthesia, and a number of specialist society funding partners.
To help us deliver this effectively we collect information on Ethnicity, Diversity and Inclusion from NIAA grant applicants, as this data will help us:
develop a more detailed picture of our applicant profile so we can consider and address areas of under-representation
better understand the needs of our stakeholders
inform strategic planning and policy reform to improve equality, diversity and representation across the NIAA’s work
assess the impact of our initiatives and;
promote, develop and foster positive relations between different groups.
In line with the Data Protection Act 2018 (C.12), the NIAA will always keep your information safe and stored appropriately, through administration by the RCoA. Please see the RCoA’s Privacy Notice for further details. You can request for your data to be deleted if you change your mind.
Please note that EDI data provided will not be used as part of any NIAA grant funding decision-making. This EDI form is kept separate from your application, so for your own data protection please do not attach this EDI form to your application form or upload it to ScholarOne – it must be submitted separately through the online form.
The NIAA is determined to create a more inclusive environment at all levels where differences are valued and respected.
This questionnaire should be completed and submitted by the named Principal Applicant for any NIAA grant. Please only submit one EDI form per application.
